Great Dane Grows to 7 Feet in Britain

Great Danes are an iconic dog breed that are known for their size, but have you ever heard of one growing 7 feet tall? Freddy, the Great Dane in question, lives in Britain with his owner Clare Stoneman, according to Jezebel. He was the runt of the litter, but he grew to 7 feet in height (when standing on its hind legs) after a growth spurt and is believed to be the biggest dog in the area. Now the 18-month-old dog is happily living his oversized life with his sister Fleur.

Freddy has a massive diet that includes eight cans of dog food, 12 pounds of minced chicken, 12 pounds of tripe and four roast chickens. He is also full of energy and mischief as any young dog would be, as he has gone through 14 sofas.

Great Dane Facts
Dogs of this breed are known for having gentle and loving dispositions, despite their large size. They also need daily exercise to keep them fit and healthy. According to the American Kennel Club, they are often called “gentle giants” and the “king of dogs.” Great Danes were originally bred to hunt boar, but now they are mostly companion pets.
