Shelters can be extremely stressful for animals, especially when they came from a family and are now forced to live in a lonely environment.
This dog, named Ginger, was dumped at the Carson Animal Shelter after her family decided that they couldn’t keep her anymore since she didn’t get along with their other dog.
When Ginger first arrived, she was a very happy pup. But this was because she had no idea that her family would be leaving her there and never coming back for her.
196 days passed by as Ginger patiently waited for her family to come back for her. They never did. Thankfully, a family saw Ginger and decided to give her a forever home!
After all this time in the shelter, she finally got to take her freedom walk home, which was all caught on camera. In the video below, you can see Ginger smelling the grass again for the first time in a long time, and happily wagging her tail nonstop.
