Mary Jane, an avid animal lover, was driving down the road when, all of a sudden, she noticed something in front of her. She looked closer and realized that someone in the truck in front of her was throwing puppies from the back as it was moving down the road!
She immediately stopped and gathered up the unwanted puppies. She gently looked them over and placed them all in her car. After the shock of what just happened wore off, she headed to the local vet.
All of the puppies were okay aside from a few scrapes, except one that had a bruised back leg. Brookhaven Animal Rescue League took all the puppies to help them find new homes. Shamrock, as one of them was later named, had an old injury to his front right leg. The vet noticed that his leg had been broken and healed improperly. His foot was turned in, and he appeared to be walking on his ankle.

Since the injury was old, the local vet suggested that Shamrock see a specialist. Mary Jane knew that it was going to be expensive to see a specialist, but Shamrock deserved to be able to run and play like other puppies. Upon examination, the specialist said the leg could be fixed.
Thankfully, a generous donation from GreaterGood Friends Program covered the cost of surgery. After weeks of confinement, Shamrock made a full recovery. During his recovery process, Mary Jane decided to foster him. The only point where Mary Jane failed was that she became a “foster failure.” That is to say, Shamrock captured her heart and had found his forever home with her!
