Senior Dog Yearns For Forever Home With A Soft Bed

Senior dogs have so much to offer and deserve to live their golden years in a loving home.

Eric, a 14-year-old terrier mix, was abandoned by his family a few months ago and ended up at the RSPCA Danaher Animal Home in Essex. The sweet boy yearns for a quiet home with a soft bed for him to take long naps on. He loves to sleep and requires at least nine hours of peaceful dreaming a night.

Although naps and sleeping are his favorite, he still enjoys walks and cuddling with his humans. On a rare occasion he will get a burst of energy and zoom around the yard. Eric really enjoys a scratch behind the ear and cuddling with his humans.

The shelter put out a plea to help find him the perfect forever home. Manager, Deborah Satchell, said, “Eric loves to snooze. He likes to be in bed by 10pm and doesn’t really want to get up before 7am. He also enjoys a long afternoon nap. He prefers to sleep in cool spots, like in doorways or on tiled floors, as he has a thick, fluffy coat.”

She went on to say, “He loves human company and finds being alone quite scary so is looking for someone who is around for much of the day.”

The perfect home for this gentleman would be free of cats and small children. He did not do well in the shelter environment, so he was moved to a temporary foster home. Eric is mostly deaf, so he can become startled if approached too quickly.
