Rescuers Save Emaciated Doberman From Life On The Streets

Stray dogs have to face numerous challenges in their daily lives. They are often left to fend for themselves, wandering the streets in search of food and shelter.

Without access to basic necessities like clean water and food, these dogs are forced to scavenge through garbage cans and dumpsters to find their next meal. They also face health risks as they are exposed to diseases, parasites, and injuries.

Being alone, they are also more susceptible to being attacked by other animals or being hit by cars. In addition to these challenges, stray dogs are often victims of abuse and mistreatment by humans who view them as a nuisance. It’s a sad reality for millions of dogs around the world, including an emaciated Doberman living in St. Louis, Missouri.

Thankfully, the Doberman doesn’t have to survive on his own any longer thanks to Stray Rescue of St. Louis.

They shared on YouTube that they spotted the emaciated Doberman and knew they had to help. “We named him Albus Dumbledore. He breaks our heart,” they wrote.

They went on to say that the dog was in “horrible shape.” They said of his condition, “We’re hoping it’s not cancer, but we’ll run all the tests to see what he needs. He has a big, open tumor, upper respiratory, and no appetite.”

In an update on Facebook, Stray Rescue of St. Louis revealed that Albus is “eating great and finally has some energy.” He’s still got a long road to recovery, but his personality is starting to shine.

They said, “He loves plushy toys and especially ones that squeak.”

They went on to say that he’s suffering from sarcoptic mange that they’re treating. They’re also still unsure about his tumor or what kind of cancer he has. They said, “He’ll have to get healthier and more stable before we do a mass removal and send the entire tumor in for testing before we have results on staging, what kind of cancer, etc. But for now, he’s doing well and we have high hopes for this angel. It’s unbelievable to think that someone could let this happen to such a kind and majestic creature. But we’ll do what we do best – take what others think of as disposable and turn them into a legend.”
