He received his name because he is lucky to be alive. A resident in Lviv, Ukraine, stumbled upon the severely injured cat and brought him to the local shelter, Home of Rescued Animals, for help.
Lucky arrived bleeding with both of his hind legs fractured and his tail nearly torn off. No one knows how this sweet fella became so injured, but he is finally in caring hands.
He was rushed into emergency surgery to remove dead tissue on his tail and paw where the operating vet discovered signs of hip dysplasia in his hind legs. He will need a second surgery to address this.
Lucky’s medical bills are quickly adding up for the shelter who is already caring for countless animals of all sizes. They contacted Greater Good Charities’ Emergency Animal Medical fund for help.
The fund provides grants to animal rescues and shelters to cover emergency surgeries and other medical expenses to give animals like Lucky a second chance. We couldn’t do it without your support.
Lucky is a sweet boy who will be a great companion for one lucky family once he has fully healed. Please help us raise $4,000 to help him get the surgery and care he needs to recover.
Your gift will not only give him the hope to keep fighting, but your donations will help cover his ongoing care.
Home of Rescued Animals, also called Domivka Shelter, is a sanctuary in Lviv, Ukraine, for wild and livestock animals. What started as a big dream and the rescue of one horse has turned into a safe haven for animals who were rescued from terrible situations. Since the war, they opened their doors and hearts to dogs, cats, and any other animals in need.
