Dogs Participate In The First Ever Rio Dog Olympic Games

Many have watched and enjoyed the Olympics this year, but have you ever watched dog Olympics?! For the first time ever, Rio de Janeiro hosted the Dog Olympic Games and it was just as cute as you’d suspect! Tons of dogs of all different breeds, ages and sizes competed at Toto’s Park Club. The categories included agility, aquatic ball chasing and aquatic jumping and the winners received medals.

Although it was great exercise for the pups and fun to watch, the competition’s mission was to socialize people and their pets while celebrating sports. One of the winners was a nine-month-old Beagle named Mima who took first place in aquatic jumping. They hope to continue the dog Olympics and make it an annual event.
