South Korea is the only country in the world known to intensively breed dogs for human consumption. Dogs on these farms live in constant fear, starving and desperate for help.

Humane Society International (HSI) has been active in South Korea since 2014, bringing attention to the cruelty of the dog meat industry. This farm will be the 10th dog meat farm shut down by the animal rescue team of HSI. All 170 dogs will be rescued and sent to the United Kingdom, Canada, or the United States for adoption.

The conditions shown in the video will bring you to tears. Somehow through all the neglect, the dogs are still wagging their tails and seeking affection. Those sweet souls will be rescued and finally experience love for the first time.

“They just exist but now they can live,” states one rescue team volunteer.

Cages that are packed with dogs and puppies that are barely surviving cover the farm. There are all types of dogs crammed in the maze of crates on the farm. Surrounding the crates is garbage and junk with nothing to protect the dogs from weather.

HSI will demolish all the cages and make sure that no animal is ever bred or raised there again. The farmer signs a contract stating the land will never be used for animal raising or breeding again. HSI follows up on the contract by visiting the farm. The team will help transition the farm into a humane livelihood.
