Leslie has been around animals all of her life. As a child, her family owned several Dobermans, so she knew exactly what kind of dog she wanted when she was an adult. She currently has four beloved Dobermans: Boss, Kyra, Gaia and Zeus. The dogs are considered a part of her family and can usually always be found playing together. While the dogs stick together, they aren’t the only animals that Leslie has taken in.
Horses are a common site on Leslie’s property. In fact, the dogs are extremely comfortable around the horses. Leslie says the dogs and horses have been around each other since they were born.
“The pack just knows how to deal and live around horses,” Leslie says. “They’ve been around horses since they were allowed to go outside. However, the case of Boss is a different one.”
It seems as if Boss has taken to one particular horse, Contino. It all started the very first time that Boss wandered into Contino’s stable. Leslie says it is like the two were just drawn together. Neither of the animals show any kind of fear towards each other.
“Boss was always fearless around him and was even curious to come close to lick or smell him,” Leslie said. “Contino accepted him amazingly since day one, so that’s about time when I realized their relationship was something special.”
It is amazing to see the two animals together. Sharing kisses and cuddles, the odd couple spends all of their spare time together.
“They built this amazing trust and knowledge of each other and this has only grown over the years,” Leslie said.
