Kind Dog Helps Disabled Man Cross The Street

Dogs are lovingly referred to as “man’s best friend,” and there’s a good reason why. In areas of the world where dogs are accepted and loved, they often demonstrate great loyalty and dedication to their owners.

The term was originally coined back in 1870 by George Graham Vest, who famously stated: “The one absolute, unselfish friend that man can have in this selfish world — the one that never proves ungrateful or treacherous — is his dog.”

Since before and after the saying came to be, dogs have been proving themselves as loyal companions for humans all around the globe.

According to The Washington Post, Brazil is home to more dogs than children, and dogs are becoming “the most destructive predator” in the country. Despite that, those who welcome the animals into their hearts get to enjoy the companionship and kindness they have to offer.

One disabled man in the southern city of Criciúma, Santa Catarina, Brazil knows just how deep the loyalty of a dog will go. As captured on film by a driver, his dog helps guide him across the busy street.

In the video, you can see the dog nudging him on either side to keep him moving in a straight line. It’s truly heartwarming and shows just how far a dog will go for his “best friend.”

A driver in a nearby vehicle captured the moment and shared it with ViralHog, saying, “The video brings an image of a very pure feeling where a dog without a guide, simply willingly without exchange for snacks and without being taught for it, walks side by side to a person with physical disabilities simply for love.”

The world could use more kindness and selflessness like this dog has. Watch the sweet moment below:
