Stray Dog Dying From Mange Gets A Second Chance At Life

A stray dog in India was gifted a second chance at life after being found by some Good Samaritans who recognized the gravity of his situation.

The Good Samaritans caught the dog and held him in their car while they waited for rescuers with Animal Aid Unlimited to arrive.

The dog was covered in mange scabs and was in so much pain, it was heartbreaking to witness.

Animal Aid Unlimited said that having people catch the dog, who they named Powder, was “profoundly important” because “mange dogs are often difficult to catch.”

With that part of the rescue out of the way, the staff with Animal Aid Unlimited were able to get right to treating Powder’s skin and working to save his life.

The mange was so severe that the poor pup was on the brink of death, but thankfully, his condition was treatable.

Rescuers immediately began giving Powder medicated baths to help with the scabs. He was offered food, rest, and plenty of love.

After some time passed, his scabs slowly disappeared and his hair began to grow back! His transformation was truly incredible and now he looks like a whole new dog.
