Dogs show us how to love unconditionally, so it is only fitting that they are part of the soul mate search. Our fur children are a big part of our life and we want to find a partner that will love them as well. Not to mention, that dogs are a good judge of character, so they can weed out the “bad” ones.
If you are searching for love and “must love dogs” is a requirement, then the new Dig dating app is for you. The app was designed by Leigh Isaacson and her sister, Casey who understand that dogs are a huge part of our lives. “Dig is a dating app for people who love dogs and have dogs,” Isaacson told Fox2 Detriot. “It’s a niche dating app but it’s a huge community of people looking for someone who is going to match their compatibility, their lifestyle, their love for dogs.”
According to Leigh, 55% of single adults in the U.S. are pet owners. “A dating app for dog lovers? I shih-tzu not.”
Dog lovers will love how simple it is to log in and search pictures of potential match with their dogs. Each person creates a profile and then the app will fetch five compatible matches a day. Once a person finds someone they are interested in meeting, the app offers dog-friendly bars, restaurants and parks to meet at.
If you are not looking for love, but a dog loving friend, the app works for that as well. Kristen Ige tells Fox2 Detriot, “But for example if I just want to meet people in the city and didn’t want to leave my dog alone, or if I wanted to socialize my dog as well it would be great to go and have my dog meet other people and if they have other dogs, too.”
Bonus features of the app are deals on dog products, and dog tip of the day. Currently, the app is available for people living in Detroit, New York, Boston and New Orleans. It is still expanding and coming soon to Austin and San Francisco.
