Cat From Michigan Found In Tampa, And No One Knows How He Got There

It’s a long walk from Dearborn to Tampa. Just ask Daisy.

The cat disappeared from her home just before Halloween and wound up in Florida by the end of the year.

The Sanborn family still isn’t sure how Daisy (also called Bandit) ever made it down to the Sunshine State. Tampa is about 1,170 miles away if you take the main interstates.

Daisy likely walked a few of those miles.

Daisy wound up in Tampa, Florida.

“We don’t know if he hitched a ride in a moving van or a snowbird took him down to Florida,” Judy Sanborn wrote on a GoFundMe page.

According to WTSP, the cat’s family realized just how their furry friend had spent his November when they got a call from Blue Pearl Veterinary Partners. Daisy was microchipped, and the veterinarian office was able to track down his parents all the way up in Dearborn.

Daisy somehow traveled over 1,170 miles to Florida from Dearborn, Michigan.

The cost of shipping Daisy up north was a little more than the Sanborn’s could shell out after the holiday season, so Judy set up the GoFundMe page to raise some of the money. The campaign hit its $500 goal in a matter of days.

He’ll be coming home soon!

“In addition to the plane ticket and special crate, we will get Bamboo Pet Sitting of Tampa, Florida to pick him up and deliver him to the airport,” Sanborn wrote.
