Rescuers were called to help a dog who’d fallen into a manhole and couldn’t get out. The poor pup spent all night at the bottom of the manhole, but help finally arrived.

The Dog Rescue Shelter in Mladenovac, Serbia recevied a call from a concerned man about a small black and white dog who’d fallen into a manhole.

The dog had spent the night there, but she was still alive the next morning. The man knew she’d need help, so he called the rescue and they sent someone to investigate.

Though she was wearing a red collar, none of the neighbors recognized her. The rescue took her in and had her scanned for a microchip, but she didn’t have one. They named her Cupka and continued searching for her family.

They posted on Facebook that they searched for her owner for a few months, but had no idea where she came from or how she ended up in the manhole in a neighborhood where no one recognized her.

It seemed that she lived in an apartment before because they said she was used to it and comfortable in that setting. They also said she “loves kittens” and kids and “accepts other dogs.”

Because she wasn’t being claimed, the rescue got her chipped, fixed, and vaccinated. Then, they started looking for a new forever home for her.

Within a short time, Cupka found the perfect match for a family. She has a dog sibling to play with and gets lots of love and care.
