Cotton, the rescue cat, was found wandering around by himself with his eyes stuck shut. Thankfully, a man named Joe, the owner of the property he was wandering around on, came outside and discovered that this kitty was in dire need of a rescue!
Cotton was in rough shape. Joe raced home and got a small carrier, he then placed a bowl of food inside. Cotton walked right inside to get to it. The poor thing was famished! Joe took him home and then posted a plea on Facebook for help. Carmen Weinberg from Animal Friends Project finally answered.
When Weinberg arrived, she noticed that Cotton’s body was riddled with mange. So much so, that it his eyes were crusted shut. Weinberg rushed him to the vet where he confirmed her suspicion — Poor Cotton was walking around outside, on his own, blind for how long? How heartbreaking!
Weinberg brought Cotton home. He was on the road to recovery, but it was long road indeed. He was malnourished and in need of some serious TLC. No matter how bad he felt inside though, Cotton was always in good spirits. He purred constantly! It’s like he knew he was finally getting the love and care he so desperately needed.
As Cotton began to heal, something wonderful happened. Cotton opened his eyes! To say his eyes were beautiful is an understatement… They’re stunning!!!
