Copper Waited 11 Years For A New Home — And How He’s Got One!
Copper came to the Homeless Animal Rescue Team of Maine Inc.’s (HART) shelter when he was 9 months old. His owners said he was being surrendered because he was too active for their quiet home.
For years, Copper watched as hundreds of other cats were adopted into their forever homes. Though the staff wanted him to find a loving family, they also loved watching him hang around on his favorite cat tree!
Finally, after 11 years of waiting, Copper now has a permanent place to perch in his new adoptive family’s home.
Cooper is one of thousands of animals competing in the 2014 Shelter Challenge. To read more rescue stories and to vote for your favorites, check out ShelterChallenge.com!
