The collapse of the condo in Miami captured the world’s attention. It also brought out the best in many people, who did their part to ensure that the rescue efforts kept going.
As you can imagine, it was a very stressful situation for those rescuers, so nine golden retrievers came in to lend a helping hand.
Those Golden retrievers were brought from out of state to help those who were on scene as first responders. The Miami Surfside Condo collapse had certainly taken a toll, but the dogs were there to help.
According to a local news station, the Lutheran Church Charities K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry’s spokeswoman, Bonnie Fear, said, “These dogs are here for you.”

She went on to say that it wasn’t out of the ordinary to see first responders come up to the dogs and either cry or smile.
They are letting the dogs be the bridge to help the first responders grieve or overcome whatever feelings they are experiencing.
Although the nine golden retrievers were sent in to help, they weren’t the first to arrive. There were already therapy dogs on the scene from the Miami-Dade County Fire Department.
Those dogs included a variety of breeds, both large and small.
It is largely understood that therapy dogs help humans who are undergoing severely stressful situations.
Many people are accustomed to leaning on dogs for stress relief, but the dogs also understand how to be there for the humans. It’s little wonder that we call them man’s best friend.
