Video Of A Cat Being Denied Its Christmas Tree Destruction Privilege Goes Viral

Cats are graceful creatures.

Or are they?

Cat owners face the challenge of cat-proofing their Christmas trees every Christmas time. Some people buy small or fake trees to avoid absolutely wrecking their homes while simultaneously making them safer overall for their cats. And then there are others who go for a more drastic approach of hanging their Christmas trees from their ceiling.

According to Peta, pine needles can be dangerous for cats if ingested. It’s essential to protect your cats and your trees from harming each other.

If you still want your Christmas decoration to look pretty, try placing your trees away from the furniture. This will deter cats from climbing in or pouncing on your tree. Lemon or orange peels will also do the trick if you simply want them to avoid the Christmas tree, since most cats hate the scent of citrus.

But what if you can’t be bothered with making all these elaborate preparations just to ensure the safety of both your tree and your cat?

A plastic sheet is all you’ll need. Provided that you won’t mind the messy look that would result from using this easy fix.

The viral video can be watched in the video below.

If you think the idea is great but the execution isn’t quite up to your standards, I have one more sample for you. This time, the plastic sheet used is thicker and it’s even more viral than the one above, with 18.7M views on TikTok.

Check out the (admittedly) more visually appealing plastic barrier in the video below.
