Losing a pet is one of the hardest things in life. They bring so much joy and friendship to our lives. For many of us, our fur children make us complete. When they cross the rainbow bridge, we are left with a hole in our hearts.

Christina Aguilera recently had to put her 17-year-old Papillon dog down. Last Friday (January 5), she posted on Instagram the heartfelt words, “I had to finally make the hard decision to put my beloved Stinky down last night after an amazing 17 years together!”

She goes on to say, “You were my roadie through the tours…breakups…life’s many ups and downs…my 1st baby before I had any babies…The one and only forever. RIP, Stinky…Run free and with no more misery.”

With the post is a montage of photos of her and her dog combined into a tribute with the perfect word being sung in the background…loyalty.

Check out the tribute below. We are sorry for your loss, Christina!
