A woman named Chris was injured in a skiing accident and was unable to walk. She was permanently wheelchair bound, which made it hard to perform everyday tasks like she used to.
Then one day she got a service dog named Earle and everything changed. Earle was there to help her with many different things like helping her get around, getting her groceries from the grocery store, and accompanying her to places like the library and her doctor appointments.
While Earle was there to make Chris feel better and to help keep her company, Chris still felt lonely and lost. But Earle motivated Chris to get out of the house and even do more things that she once enjoyed doing.
She helped give Chris the confidence to be more social again. People used to see Chris and immediately notice her wheelchair, but now the first thing they see is her furry best friend.
Chris may be in a wheelchair, but she hasn’t let that stop her from living her life. The two of them have traveled all over the world together and have gone on so many adventures. Among those places are Norway, the United Kingdom, and Chris’ favorite place: Ireland.
Today, Chris goes to different schools and places to give talks about service dogs. She informs people about how helpful they are and what their job is. Through her talks and her travels, she has met so many new friends along the way. But her best friend of all will always be Earle!
