Their Family Gave Them Up To A Shelter, But Their Bond Remains Unbreakable
For years, Chewbacca, a 10-year-old German Wirehaired Pointer/Labrador mix, and CC, a 6-year-old Rat Terrier, lived together with a loving family.

Their whole world changed when their family welcomed in a newborn baby who wound up being allergic to the two dogs. The family was forced to give them up, so they eventually were brought to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.

Although they are now without their family, they still have each other. It is very obvious that these two pups have an unbreakable bond.

When walking by their kennel, no matter the time or day, CC can be seen cuddling on top of Chewbacca. Chewy doesn’t mind it one bit; in fact, they both like being close to each other.

Despite their difference in size, they also like to walk side by side. Shelter volunteers took the two of them outside for a day trip to get some fresh air and time out of the kennel, and even in the car, they like to sit against each other!

Both Chewy and CC are very well-behaved, friendly dogs. They get along with other dogs and even cats. It didn’t take long before these two found their new forever home together!

Now they will spend the rest of their lives together with their new loving humans. They also get to live with two other dog siblings and three pigs!
