When Cher tells you you’re doing a good job, you want to live up to that compliment. The Animal Rescue Site and all of GreaterGood is grateful for the recent acknowledgement she sent our way on Instagram.
Speaking with her close friend Paulette Howell, Cher told her followers just what she thought of one of GreaterGood.org’s signature programs that delivers backpacks filled with much needed supplies to homeless veterans and their pets.
“A lot of times shelters will not let you take your pets in,” Cher says. “Backpacks with basic necessities for you and your pets…we think that’s really important.”
“A fabulous idea,” Paulette replies.
Cher and Paulette also mentioned giving to the local ASPCA, where donations can make a direct impact on the health and wellbeing of the shelter pets in your community.
With 1.3 million followers and counting, a few were moved enough to share their own sentiments.
“The Greater Good sounds great!” wrote Instagram user ogcherlovely. “Vets and pets nothing better! And I’m with you on donating to local ASPCA instead of the National I get to see where my money is going and how they are using it for the animals! 😘”
“Thank you Cher & Pauli. I Love The Greater Good suggestion,” wrote user whatroxmyworld. “Merry Christmas Love to you both. 🎄🐾♥️🕊”
“you two have the biggest hearts!! love this and you both‼️❤️🥰,” wrote sierraaa_mariaaa.
The goal of the program Cher mentioned is is to distribute backpacks to homeless shelters across the country, but funds are yet needed to make this a reality. We have the supplies ready — each pack contains blankets, food, hygiene items, dog toys, treats, and much more — but we are still waiting on the means to ship and deliver them.
