Florida Woman Dies and Her Cats Inherit the Mansion

Seven cats are the proud new owner of a Florida mansion, valued at $2.5 million, thanks to an inheritance.

We work hard during life in the hopes that we can leave something to our children. In doing so, we ensure that they are well cared for, and we hope they do the same for their children.

There are also some people who don’t necessarily have family, despite the fact that they have a sizable inheritance to leave behind. That is the situation one woman in Tampa Bay found herself in, and she did something unique.

The Tampa Bay Times reported that the woman died, leaving behind a $2.5 million mansion. She was 84 years old when she passed away.

Unfortunately, her husband and son had passed away prior to her death, so she did something different. The loves of her life after the death of her family were her cats and shopping.

She Loved Cats

That is why she decided to leave her $2.5 million estate to the seven cats in her life. She also left what is referred to as a ‘substantial’ inheritance to those felines to care for their physical needs.

The cats, Cleopatra, Goldfinger, Leo, Midnight, Napoleon, Snowball, and Squeaky, remained at the home, according to her wishes.

According to a family friend, Yana Alban, she loved the cats very much, and the deal was that the house shouldn’t be sold until the last cat had died.

Those Persian cats were still relatively young, only about five years old. They still had a long life ahead of them.

Carrying Out Her Wishes

All seven cats stayed in the home for six months after her death, but eventually, they had to be moved because they were not being cared for properly. They were living in cages at the house, which wasn’t good for them.

All seven of the cats were placed in a large room at the local animal shelter. The goal was to keep as many together as possible until they found the perfect home.

Some inquiries have come in about adopting the cats, but only Snowball has been adopted so far. Snowball needs special care because of a heart condition, so she went to the right home.

We hope that her wishes are followed and that all of the cats get a wonderful life.
