There is nothing like starting the new year with a cat rescue story. According to the Halifax Courier, a family living in the United Kingdom discovered their pet Alpha was stuck in a wall in their cellar.
After an unsuccessful attempt to get the cat out, the animal's owner Richard Coatencontacted the Yorkshire Cat Rescue and the fire brigade. In an attempt to rescue the feline, three holes were knocked into the wall, but they were unable to seehim. However, later on the cat presented a clue as to his whereabouts.
"The patio was also dug up to try to gain access to the interior of the wall cavity," Coaten told the source. "A hole was dug in our neighbor's attic, it was then we noticed a paw sticking out below the guttering."
Alpha was later rescued with the help of an inspector from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The cat was dusty when found but overall in good health.
