Siberian Cat Always Beats Dad In Foot Races

Rackarkatten the Siberian cat is like most cats in a lot of ways. When she’s inside her family’s apartment, she relaxes and does typical cat things like eating, sleeping, and cuddling.

But when she’s outside, everything changes.

In an interview with The Dodo, Rackarkatten’s dad, Magnus Luntrun, explained that she’s rather sedentary indoors like many cats, but outside, her personality and curiosity for life explode.

He said, “I gave her access to the backyard and forest, and a whole new world was open for her.”

With that new world came a deep love of running. Rackarkatten loves to run, and she learned she could run quite quickly, along with leaping, climbing, and doing other outdoor activities.

When Rackarkatten turned two, Magnus decided to put his cat’s love for running to the test by challenging her to a foot race. To his surprise, Rackarkatten was not only up for the challenge but she was determined to win.

That was 12 years ago and the now 14-year-old cat isn’t showing any signs of slowing down!

Magnus told The Dodo that they do two races per week in the summer months and two races per month in the winter months. Throughout all the years of them racing, Rackarkatten has never lost.
