Caroline created her charming dessert toppers by mixing white bean paste (called shiro-an) and glutinous rice (similar to mochi) to form an edible, mold-able clay. With a few dots of edible paint, these little guys perfectly capture playful kitty spirits as they peek out of doughnut holes, perch atop biscuits and curl up on pancakes.
