Family Surprised Their Sad Golden With A New Puppy After His Doggy Sister Passed AwayAshley Maisano
12-year-old Cash the Golden Retriever has always been a happy dog, but things have never been the same since his doggy sister and best friend, Rosie, passed away.
“He’s been the best dog we’ve ever had,” Marie Ahonen, his owner, told KTVU. “When Rosie died, he just kind of seemed lost. He slept 23 and a half hours a day. He just needed more excitement in his life.”
That’s when they came up with the idea of adding a new furry member to their family. They decided to get a new puppy, but they wanted it to be a surprise for Cash. What better Christmas gift than a new baby brother?!
They put the new puppy, named Jennings, in a box and placed it on the floor. Cash was extremely curious about this mysterious box. Once Jennings popped the lid off, Cash got a good sniff and realized what his present was.
Cash was so excited to see a new puppy. His paws and tail were going a million miles an hour and he glanced up at the camera as if he was saying “thank you.”
Marie says Cash has a new sparkle in his eye and that Jennings has kept him very busy. The two of them get along great, and Cash is going to make a great big brother to Jennings.
Luckily, they caught the surprise on video so we can watch it over and over and over again. Watch the heartwarming moment in the video below:
