One-Eared Pit Bull Finally Finds A Dad To Call His Own

A viral one-eared rescue dog has finally found a dad to call his own drawing attention from people around the nation.

Bruno the dog had a rough start to life and spent years living outside, where he was attacked and lost of his years. He was taken in by the SPCA of Wake County.

As it turns out, while at the shelter, Bruno tore the ear off his favorite stuffed toy – the same ear he was missing! The SPCA shared about the sweet coincidence on Facebook and it wasn’t long before photos of one-eared Bruno and his one-eared stuffie went viral.

In the post, the SPCA said: “Y’all Bruno tore one of the ears off his favorite stuffed toy — the same ear he’s missing himself. The staff member who found this couldn’t believe it, so she took these photos to show the rest of our team.”

The SPCA went on to explain, “Bruno used to live chained up outside, and his ear was torn off when another dog attacked him and he couldn’t run away. But Bruno knows there’s nothing wrong with him, and now he has a best friend just like him to prove it.”

The ended the post by saying, “You’re perfect just the way you are, Bruno.”

People quickly fell in love with Bruno, and it was only a matter of days before someone stepped up to adopt him.

The SPCA shared the news of his adoption on Facebook, writing:

“And just like that, Bruno has a new dad!!! Of course, his matching stuffie HAS to go with him so they can be buds forever. Bruno’s adopter loves him just the way he is and promised to show Bruno nothing but unconditional love for the rest of his life.”

The noted that Bruno has heartworm disease “from all his days living outside, but thanks to your generous support, SPCA Wake is able to provide Bruno’s full course of treatment over the next few months!”

“Heartworm disease is serious and very life-threatening — unfortunately affecting thousands of shelter dogs in NC each year, making it much, much harder for them to find homes,” the shelter added.

Thankfully, Bruno did find someone to call family and is now living his best life.
