The Fourth Recall On Dog Food In 3 Weeks! Make Sure Your Dog Is Safe!

Adding to the list of recent recalls, Bravo Pet Foods is issuing a recall on 4 brands of their dog and cat food over positive tests for Salmonella. 105 cases of the contaminated food went out to retailers, both online and in brick and mortar stores. Bags with the UPC 829546211028 need to dispose of the food immediately. The other foods under suspicion can be found here.

This recall comes on the heels of 3 other recalls in the last 2 weeks. Natural Dog Company has a current recall on some of their treats for Salmonella, and companies Carnivore Meat Company, and Stella And Chewy’s are undergoing recalls due to Listeria.

These recalls are shocking and disturbing to say the least. Make sure you check your dogs food AND treats against these recalls, and remember to research what you bring home for your companions.

Here are some of the things to look for in both Salmonella and Listeria. Watch your animals closely, and if symptoms occur, get them to the veterinarian right away.

Salmonella can affect both dogs and humans if the humans do not wash their hands properly after handling the dog treats. As of right now, there are no illnesses reported.

Symptoms of Salmonella in dogs are:

diarrhea
fever
vomiting
lethargic

Listeria can cause encephalitis and blood poisoning in dogs.

Symptoms of Listeria in dogs include:

depression
loss of appetite
fever
lack of coordination
facial paralysis
salivation

Remember to check your pets food and treats, and keep an eye out for future recalls!
