Bobby Flay Heartbroken Over the Death of His Beloved Cat, Nacho
Cats are part of the family and make our lives whole. Renowned chef, Bobby Flay, shared his beloved feline named Nacho with the world through social media.
The charismatic orange Maine Coon won the hearts of Flay’s fans and even had his own Instagram page. He was featured on Flay’s social media nearly as much as food.
The chef founded Made by Nacho, cat-crafted cat food, to ensure all felines get the food and nutrition they need.
When Nacho wasn’t busy entertaining his fans or collaborating on cat food, he was cuddled next to his dad. It is clear that he was a beloved member of the Flay family.
He celebrated his 9th birthday on October 3 with a birthday shoutout from his sister, Stella. The video shows just how spoiled he was.
On Tuesday, the otherwise private chef shared some devastating news on Instagram. He wrote, “It is with an absolute broken heart that I report Nacho has passed away peacefully. I usually don’t post private family business but I truly believe he was everyone’s cat in some way. Nacho had a magic about him that was truly special.”
He went on to say how Nacho inspired him and enhanced his life. “He came into my life when I needed him most and brought joyful moment after joyful moment to my household. As any cat parent will tell you, the communication between you and your kitty is real and Nacho’s inclusiveness in our home inspired me to create something that would nourish cats everywhere. At the moment my only soothing thought is knowing his likeness and legacy will live on forever through Made by Nacho.”
Flay is mourning alongside his other cats Stella and Canelo. Nacho was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
The longtime cat dad asked his fans to, “Give your pets an extra long hug today and please say a short prayer for Nacho. They mean so much to all of us.”
