Big Boy Boulder Finally Finds Perfect Home

Big Boy Boulder Finally Finds Perfect Home

Boulder was overlooked by adopters due to his size and breed, but he has finally found the perfect home. He is proof that good things come to those who wait.

The 5-year-old pit bull mix is a big boy, weighing 100 pounds. However, he is overweight and needs to lose roughly 20 pounds. While his size may intimidate some people, his caretakers shared that he is a "gentle giant" and a "big mush". He loves people, children, and gets along with other dogs.

His handsome face was shared by Humane Society Broward County several times on social media to help him find his person.

They recently shared a sad update that Boulder was still waiting. "Even though he was seen by millions of viewers in our “older dogs” video, no one came in to adopt sweet Boulder. Sadly, this is often the case with our bigger bully-breed dogs."

He just needed someone to love.

His story reached a couple who already owned a pit bull that looks just like Boulder, but smaller. The two were instant friends and the couple adopted the big fella.

The day he has been waiting for has finally arrived, and he couldn't be happier. As he approached his new family, his whole body was wiggling with excitement. He was finally going home.

The happy news was shared on the shelter's TikTok page. They wrote, "Big boy Boulder was adopted!! He was so excited to go home and start his new life with his forever family and new four-legged best friend (and mini me)! Thank you to all who shared his video and help make this adoption happen! Boulder, you are going to have the best life! ❤️ Happy tails sweetie."

Photos shared at the end of the video show Boulder smiling alongside his canine sibling and living his best life. Boulder finally found his happy ending. There are dozens of dogs still waiting at the shelter for theirs. Check out all the adoptable pets here.
