Joe Biden Adopts Dog Named MajorAndrea Powell
Meet Major! The newest member of the Biden family. Former Vice President, Joe Biden, and his wife, Jill took in the 10-month-old German Shepherd puppy as a foster, that quickly turned into an adoption.
Major, along with his 5 siblings, were surrendered to Delaware Humane Association (DHA) after they came into contact with “something toxic in their home”. The owner could not afford veterinary care, so the puppies were surrendered to the shelter. DHA provided lifesaving care for all the puppies, and then posted that they were looking for fosters. “Joe Biden caught wind of them and reached out immediately. The rest is history!”
The Bidens quickly fell in love with Major. Fostering allowed them to get to know the pup and make sure it was a good fit with their other German Shepherd, Champ. All went well and it was time to make the adoption official.
DHA posted, “Today is Major’s lucky day! Not only did Major find his forever home, but he got adopted by Vice President Joe Biden & Dr. Jill Biden! The Bidens have gotten to know Major while fostering him and are now ready to make the adoption official. Best of luck and thank you for being one of our Friends for life!”
A picture of Biden and Major leaving the shelter was posted with the caption, “I’m officially adopted you guys! Off to Secret Service school!”
Joe Biden told CNN, “We are so happy to welcome Major to the Biden family, and we are grateful to the Delaware Humane Association for their work in finding forever homes for Major and countless other animals.”
Adopt don’t shop. There are so many dogs and cats that are waiting for loving forever homes.
