BeeGee the Pit bull was diagnosed with inoperable cancer and was given a prognosis of six months to live.
While he only had a short time left, Best Friends Animal Society preferred him to live at a foster home instead of spending the rest of his life in the shelter. Shelter life can be very depressing and stressful for animals, so it was best that BeeGee felt love and comfort in his final days.
So away Beegee went to live at a foster where he’d be much more comfortable. Although his cancer cannot be cured, vets have been working with him and came up with a very good treatment plan so that his final time is as good and normal as possible.
We could all learn a thing or two from BeeGee. He is definitely living each day like it’s his last and is enjoying the fresh air and long walks. While he was loving life, a family heard about his story and wanted to meet him. It was love at first sight!
The best part? The family adopted him! Now he gets to know and feel love just like he’s always deserved. The treatment is also doing its job and he hasn’t shown or felt any signs or symptoms from the cancer.
It’s unknown exactly how long BeeGee has left to live, but his new family is making sure that it will be filled with as many special memories as possible! Thanks to this family, BeeGee is getting a second chance at happiness.
There are many dogs like BeeGee who are stuck in shelters and deserve to live out the rest of their lives in a loving home as well. If you’re thinking of adding a new furry friend to your family, consider adopting and visit your local shelter!
