A woman, while walking her dog, stumbled across an old, shabby suitcase sitting on abandoned train tracks. It was an odd sight, for sure. Her dog began to sniff the suitcase like crazy.
As the woman came closer, she heard faint meowing. She quickly unzipped the suitcase, and found a mother cat with eight tiny kittens inside. Abandoned in a remote place, on abandoned train tracks… Who would do such a thing?
The woman, with a kind heart, brought all nine cats home and immediately called for help. The RSPCA came to pick them up. The mama cat was in critical condition due to dehydration and malnourishment. But the kittens, while young and small at five weeks old, were all pretty healthy. All because they were in “good paws” with mama! The kittens were all named after Disney’s Aristocats: Toulouse, Tiny Tim, Scat Cat, Berloiz, Alli, Duchess, Marie and Eve. And Mom was named Tarini.
Here’s mom getting intravenous fluids and some extra TLC!
Now that mama is with rescuers and has had proper care, she is in much better shape. After just a few days, she was moved from critical care to the cattery to be with her babies.
Now ALL the cats are doing great– thanks to a dog with a keen nose and a woman with a big heart.
