Senior Dog Left Behind By Family Needs Someone To Love Who Will Also Share Their Bed

Shelter staff hear all sorts of reasons why people can no longer care for their pets. One of the most heartbreaking situations is when senior dogs are surrendered after spending their whole life with a family. That is what happened to a sweet dog named Brownie.
The 7-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier arrived at Humane Society of Broward County after her family moved and didn't take her with them. She is confused, heartbroken, and trying to adjust to shelter life. A dog would never abandon a member of their family, so they don't understand how their family could just leave them behind.
Shelter life is stressful, especially on senior dogs who just long for a quiet place to rest. Brownie wags her tail when people approach her kennel and is hopeful that someone will bring her home soon.
The shelter posted a video of Brownie on TikTok to help her find a loving home and wrote, "Brownie is described by her former owners as relaxed in the house and playful and energetic when outside. She gets anxious when meeting other animals to play, so a dog meet is recommended if you already have one. She loves to cuddle and will want to sleep in bed with you."
Brownie sounds like the perfect pup and she deserves to spend her golden years being showered with love and attention. The shelter encourages people near and far to check out Brownie as they adopt out of state. Learn more about this "golden girl" and how to add her to your family here.
The shelter knows that her special someone is out there and states, "She will love you like no other". Please share her story to help her find someone to love.
