7-Year-Old Dog Surrendered By The Only Family She Has Ever Known Just Wants Someone To Love

For the past seven years, a sweet pup named Dutchess was in a loving home. She loved her family dearly but was surrendered to Animal Care Centers of NYC in Brooklyn due to a child’s allergy.

She has been overlooked for the past 150 days at the shelter, so staff put together a video to show what a good girl she is.

Dutchess is shy and takes time to warm up to new people but once she does, she will love you for life. She has mastered walking on a leash and knows basic commands. The playful pup really comes out of her shell on walks and time spent away from the stressful shelter.

A volunteer shared in her bio, “Dutchess has the sweetest smile across her chunky monkey face. She’s got big cheeks (the better to store her extra snacks with), floppy ears, chocolatey brown eyes. Dutchess is a mature lady at 7 years old, and she demonstrates all the benefits of adopting an older dog! She told us her favorite place to hang out is in bed (followed closely by being in the car) and she loves bathtime!”

She is the complete package and would prefer a home without children where she can be spoiled as the only pet. The adorable pup loves to pose for photos and will keep you entertained with her playful antics.
