10 Awesome Places to Drink With Your Dog

8. Rita’s On The River, San Antonio

This riverside cantina prides itself on its Texas-sized portions, which means huge margaritas overlooking San Antonio’s prime tourist attraction (well, after the Alamo). However, Rita’s devotion to animal-friendly causes distinguishes this place from all the other Tex-Mex places in town. Don’t miss the weekly “yappy hour,” which is hosted on Tuesdays from 5-7pm. Your pet can choose dog-friendly treats from his or her own menu, which in turn supports local no-kill shelters. Meanwhile, you get to guzzle down $3 margaritas and $3 chips with queso, smug in the knowledge that you did something good for the world, and your wallet.

7. The Watering Bowl, Denver

This aptly-named place promises to be Denver’s first dog-friendly bar, with dog-friendly tables and 7,000 square feet of fenced-in dog park. The standard American menu only offers human beer and food, but the bar does offer a number of other interesting services, including professional pet photography, dog weddings and hosting bark mitvahs. Even if your dog has eyes only for you, this is a great place to hang out, especially during the daily happy hour, when humans can save money whilst sampling Colorado’s famous craft beer.
